AWARD FOR LOGISTICS TRAINING COUNCIL

The LTC was proud to accept an award presented by the Local Community Partnership, Canning Coalition at its end of year event at the Mercure Hotel on 1 December 2009. The New Horizon Award for “a new partner with significant achievement” was accepted on behalf of the LTC by Senior Consultant, Norma Nisbet, and involved the Pathways Program which was successfully run in the Canning region in 2009. The program evolved from a project originally funded by the Department of Education and Training, Bridging the Gap and the LTC. The aim was to give students from education support units in secondary schools more career development opportunities and options for employment, and to introduce young people into an industry that is particularly short of young workers, and involved both off the job training and work experience.

The LTC would like to acknowledge all those who were involved in the original project and the ongoing program, in particular the Canning Coalition, the Department of Education and Training, Bridging the Gap, Challenger TAFE and most importantly the employers who offered the valuable work experience required to complete the course.
