Mr. Thierry Tedeschi is Director and founder of Focus Management & Business Solutions Pty Ltd. possessing over 17 years of executive Management in Administration and Logistics, gives Thierry Tedeschi the depth of knowledge and practical application of sound management principals needed for management consulting.
His consulting experience includes working with large and small companies, including, manufacturing, health care, retail, logistics, transport and warehousing.
 

Thierry Tedeschi is highly respected in professional and educational circles. He holds formal qualifications in Logistics including a Master in Business Logistics Management, Graduate Diploma in Transport & Distribution Management, Bachelor Business in Accounting & Information's System and a Bec MBA ASA ACIS from the University of Bruxelles.

He has instructed courses on management and supervision for the European Institute of Management and was selected as a speaker for the Asia Pacific Logistics Conference.
 

 
Jim Kelly - Vice Chair
State Manager - Australian Wool Handlers
 
Jim Kelly is the State Manager of AWH in Western Australia, in charge of both the Spearwood operation and the Fremantle site. With regard to training, Jim says that “personal development adds value to a business”.
Jim is living proof of the value of training and personal development, having completed qualifications in Logistics Management and an Advanced Diploma in Management. Jim has spent all of his working life in the warehousing industry, which he is passionate about. He began as a forklift operator in Southern Ireland and continued the same work after immigrating to Australia in his 20’s. At 24 Jim became the Warehouse Manager in a paper company and has worked his way up from there. Prior to joining AWH two years’ ago Jim was State Manager for P & O Ports (now Dubai Ports) and previously the Senior Operations Manager at Linfox.
 
 

 
 
Stewart Beard
National OHS/Training Manager - Transport Forum
 
Stewart is the National Training and OS&H Manager for the WA Freight Group whose logistics operation covers Linehaul (Jolly’s Transport Services P/L), Bulk Freight (WA Freightlines P/L) and Parcels (Jetstyle Express). Under Stewart’s leadership the Group has emerged as an industry leader in the provision of quality training in the road transport sector receiving a number of awards including the Transport and Logistics Industry Award at the Australian Training Awards 2006 and the Training Excellence Award at the ATA National Trucking Awards 2008.
 
Stewart has over 10 years experience in the industry and a wide area of expertise in both operations, management and the VET system.
 

 
Mick Knowles
Organiser - Transport Workers Union
 
 
 Michael has been employed in the transport industry for most of his working life. He has been an organiser with Transport Workers Union for the past 14 years. He is dedicated to improving the industry and encouraging more young people to pursue careers in transport.
His experience prior to joining the union ranged from operating most types of heavy vehicles up to and including, road trains. He was also a fleet controller with one of WA’s major trucking firms.
 
 
For a period of eight years Michael was responsible for representing the interests of bus operators employed on our metropolitan bus network.
Michael’s hands on involvement in both private and public transport, together with his industrial relations background, make him a valuable member of our Board  

 


 

Captain Peter Griffin
Director - Peter Griffin & Associates
 
 Over a career of more than fifty years, Peter has flown with the RAAF as a fighter pilot and advanced instructor, with the Department of Civil Aviation as an Examiner of Airmen and with Bond Corporation and the Qatar Amiri Flight as an international corporate pilot.
For the past 14 years Peter has operated his own business in Western Australia as an aviation consultant, a CASA approved flight test officer and a contract training and checking pilot for a number of West Australian aviation organisations including the RFDS and the WA Police Air Wing.
 
 

 
 
Michael Llewellyn
Industrial Relations and Business Development Manager - Total Marine Services
 
Michael represents employers from the Australian Offshore vessels operators group on the Industry Training Board. Total Marine Services in one of the largest Marine companies operating in the Offshore Marine sector and has an extensive training program for Mariners.
Michael is also a member of the Industry Board for the Challenger Institute and brings a wealth of experience having also been a founding member of the Metalliferous Mining Industry Training Board and the Hydrocarbons Industry Training Board in the late.
Michael Llewellyn is a highly respected professional in Industrial Relations and training circles. He has some 23 years in industrial relations including 14 years as an industrial advocate. He was also one of the members of the accreditation panels for the metalliferous and hydrocarbons training packages and training providers for the delivery of the packages in the 90s. 
 

Heather Jones
Director - Success Transport
 
Heather is the owner and Director of a successful transport company aptly named Success Transport, and has 10 employees and a fleet of 20 vehicles, comprising four trucks and 16 subcontractors. Heather has achieved various awards including - 2005 WA Transport Women of the Year Award and 2006 Westpac Business Owner of the Year at the WA Business Womens’ Awards. Heather is passionate about a number of issues in the industry, including improving rest and recreation facilities for drivers and educating motorists to safely share the road with trucks. She has been working with the media for some time to highlight these issues.

Audrey Jackson - Ex Officio
State Training Board
 
 Audrey moved to Western Australia in January 1983 to take up the position of Principal of St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School. St Mary’s is a K-12 day and boarding school located in Karrinyup. She resigned from the position of Principal in April 2007 to take up the role of Executive Director of the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia, (AISWA).   She retired as Executive Director in mid 2008. Following her retirement Audrey continued her involvement in education through membership of the State Training Board and through her work as a Registration consultant for the Western Australian Department of Education Services.
 
Audrey has been active in not for profit governance as both a member of governing bodies and as a Chair. These governing bodies range from those of independent schools such as Perth College of which she was Chair for 5 years; Curtin University of Technology where she was pro-Chancellor; the Council of the Anglican Schools Commission and the Scitech Discovery Centre of which she was Chair for 3 years.. All of these positions were voluntary. She is often asked by school governing bodies to advise them on matters of governance. She has also been invited to assist a number of governing bodies by serving on the selection panel for the appointment of the Principal of the school. This assistance has been provided on a voluntary basis. In 2009 and 2010 she served on the panel to select those government schools which would be given Independent Public School status.
