A Customs Clerk or Runner is an administrative and clerical role in the preparation and processing of customs documents for a Customs Broker.
Preparing customs documents and reviewing them for accuracy and completeness as well as the completing the registration of sea freight and air freight jobs. The Clerk confirms all aspects of the documents to ensure their expedient delivery. If questions or problems arise, the Clerk contacts the appropriate authorities to address and resolve them. A Clerk can also be asked to assist in collecting/delivering documentation as appropriate.
Previous billing experience and/or customer service experience is generally required and training is often provided up to a Certificate IV in International Freight Forwarding (Senior Operator).
