INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS
The LTC is committed to raising the profile of the transport and wholesale industries and to inform stakeholders of the opportunities and initiatives that are available, particularly in relation to the engagement of young people.
Our activities include:
- Developing promotional material and career and training information including pathways which clearly illustrate the transition between school and training
- Distributing information to individuals and schools through careers expos, careers advisers, employers and the website
- Keeping career coordinators informed of career developments in the industry
- Advising schools of opportunities in T&L, and undertaking school visits with industry representatives
- Providing an interface between schools and employers to develop school based traineeships to align with local employment opportunities
- Actively promoting traineeships to industry through workshops, emails and information on the website
T&L DVD - "Be the One Going Places"
The Transport & Logistics Industry Skills Council has produced a DVD which has been developed to assist students in gaining an understanding of some of the key roles and careers that are available in the Transport & Logistics Industry. The DVD has a series of seven short interviews that collectively run for approximately 15 minutes.
