The RTO Network provides an environment to share information, build relationships and maintain effective partnerships across industry and the VET sector. Below you’ll find details of recent and upcoming workshops, meetings and forums hosted by the LTC.
The Logistics Training Council (LTC) held a workshop on 4 August in Shenton Park to present an update to RTOs on training package projects, and the areas of focus for the LTC over the next 12 months. The second half of the workshop provided an informal opportunity for those in attendance to raise any issues or items for discussion. To view the notes from the meeting, click here.
The LTC held its annual RTO Forum on Friday 2 December at the Wylie Arthritis Foundation Building in Shenton Park. More than 40 RTOs attended the successful forum and the feedback has been very positive.Speakers included Morena Stanley from the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) who provided an update on the TAC Risk Framework and Annual Regulatory Strategy 2016-2017; Robert Adams and Klausch Schmidt from Australian Industry Standards (AIS), who provided an update on SSO activities and training package development and Jillian Dielesen, who provided an LTC update.
There was also a group discussion and question session with topics covered including regulatory frameworks in aviation and maritime; regulations relating particularly to unmanned flight operations; the use of simulators for training; new fatigue management units and contextualising of units across different industry areas.
