AVIATION INDUSTRY

The Aviation Industry has four principal areas: general aviation, regional airlines, domestic airlines and international airlines.

The general aviation section is made up of all non-scheduled flying activity in Australia, other than that performed by the major domestic and international airlines. Activities in this area include:

  • Private
  • Training
  • Business
  • Aerial Agriculture
  • Charter
  • Aerial Work

The domestic section has seen a steady increase in airline passenger numbers over the last 8 years. A contributing factor has been new domestic players in the industry allowing passenger movements to increase from 41.3 million in 2005 to 43 million in 2006 - Australia wide.

Some of the roles and functions within the Aviation industry include:
