This segmented DVD (total duration approximately 20 minutes) can be used in a road transport or trade, training environment by business, training establishment or the individual. The DVD will make people aware of the need for correct load restraint. It will communicate safe transport of loads through explanation of basic principles such as vehicle selection, load positioning and stability, restraint equipment and checks.

CleanRun EcoDrive Resource Kit now available
Fleet operators - Do you want to reduce your fuel costs and emissions by working with your drivers to change their driving habits?
The CleanRun EcoDrive Resource Kit, an initiative by the Department of Environment and Conservation and funded by the federal government is now available.
The resource kit gives transport operators a new tool to help cut fuel costs and CO2 emissions. The EcoDrive kit provides resources for fleet operators to engage with their drivers to design an in-house EcoDrive training program. Resources include:

a handbook
-
a training package developed with industry experts, with a training video, Power Point presentation, workbooks, assessment tools and an in-cab training CD for drivers to listen to on the road

information sheets with advice, instruction and background information for each task
-
driver engagement tools with workshop materials, agendas, surveys and sample strategies
-
‘tools' for supporting change including templates for signs and posters, information booklets and written commitments

evaluation tools for calculating baseline data and program results.

New Careers Website - The LINC
The Logistics Training Council is proud to be associated with the recently updated industry-specific careers and occupation website, which features both national and locally based information.
The LINC (Logistics Information and Navigation Centre) website, an initiative by the South Australian Freight Council, is proudly supported by the Freight and Logistics Council of WA and similar authorities in other States.
The innovative website has been designed specifically to attract and retain skilled workers to the T & L industry, which is projected to triple in size by 2050 due to increased demand.
It features an interactive careers pathways tool designed to engage the individual and demonstrate the vast array of career opportunities available in the transport and logistics industry.
The website also includes sponsorship opportunities on both a state and national level.

The "Road Ahead" National Touring Exhibition
The Road Ahead exhibition was originally created in 1994 as the Safety Education Trailer by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA). The role of the Safety Education Trailer was to enhance the community's awareness of the Australian trucking industry and to increase safety awareness. Trucking Industry Environmental Best Practice Guide

The Australian Trucking Association, in conjunction with the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, has developed a new Trucking Industry Environmental Best Practice Guide to assist trucking operators establish a set of environmental guidelines for their business and assist in the prevention of environmental incidents.
The Guide includes case studies from innovative companies who have pursued environmental objectives aligned with finding ways to lower their overheads and operating costs.
